How to play

Pipe Link

Join every matching pair and fill the whole grid.

Rules

A puzzle ends only when every square is filled. Join every matching pair, then reroute the pipes to cover the gaps. Drag from a dot to draw a pipe to the dot with the same number. Pipes move up, down, left or right and never cross. Every puzzle can be solved without guessing.

Every pair is joined, but this puzzle is not finished.

The grid holds pairs of dots, and both dots in a pair have the same colour and the same number. Draw a pipe to join each matching pair.

  • Pipes move up, down, left or right, one square at a time, never on a diagonal.
  • Pipes never cross. Drawing through another pipe cuts that pipe back, so you can change your mind.
  • The puzzle is solved only when every pair is joined and every square is filled. If every pair is joined but squares are still empty, the board says so.
  • Every puzzle can be solved without guessing.

Drag from a dot, or from the end of a pipe you already started, to draw. Drag back along a pipe to shorten it, and press a dot to start that pair again from there. On a keyboard, the arrow keys move a cursor, Enter or Space picks up a dot or the end of a pipe, the arrow keys then draw, Enter or Space puts it down, and Escape stops drawing.

Undo takes back your last change: one drag, or one pick-up to put-down on the keyboard. Restart clears the board.

The daily is a 7x7 grid, the same for everyone that day. Practice deals a fresh puzzle each time, at 5x5, 7x7 or 9x9.

Controls

Touch: tap anything on the board to use it. Every button and key is at least 44px tall, so it works with a thumb. The squares of a board are as big as the screen allows - on a small phone some of them are smaller than that, which is why the keys and the number pad, not the squares, are what you type with.

Keyboard: Tab moves between the controls and Enter or Space activates the one you are on. That covers the buttons the game screen always has - Pause, Restart and this page's link - as well as anything the board adds.

Pause stops the clock and freezes the board; Restart gives you a fresh one.

Scoring

Your score is how long you take, in minutes and seconds. Lower is better.

There is one new puzzle a day, the same one for everybody on this device, and playing on days in a row builds a streak. Once today's is done you can practise as much as you like.
