How to play

Fruit Drop

Drop the fruit, match two, grow a watermelon.

Rules

Move the fruit left and right and drop it into the box. Two fruits of the same kind that touch join into the next, bigger fruit, and that can set off a chain. Bigger fruit score more. The game ends when the pile stays above the line at the top of the box for two seconds.

Move the current fruit left or right, then drop it into the open box. Two matching fruits that touch merge into the next fruit. Merges can make a chain, and larger fruit score more points.

  • Use the pointer or your finger to aim, then release. Arrow keys and Space or Enter work too.
  • Game over arrives when fruit stays above the top line for two seconds.
  • Two watermelons disappear together and score 66 points. There is no timer before the pile is full.

Scoring: creating fruit from smallest to largest scores 1 for cherry, 3 for strawberry, 6 for grape, 10 for orange, 15 for persimmon, 21 for apple, 28 for pear, 36 for peach, 45 for pineapple, 55 for melon, 66 for watermelon. The line is at 0.2 logical units below the rim.

Controls

Touch: tap anything on the board to use it. Every button and key is at least 44px tall, so it works with a thumb. The squares of a board are as big as the screen allows - on a small phone some of them are smaller than that, which is why the keys and the number pad, not the squares, are what you type with.

Keyboard: Tab moves between the controls and Enter or Space activates the one you are on. That covers the buttons the game screen always has - Pause, Restart and this page's link - as well as anything the board adds.

Pause stops the clock and freezes the board; Restart gives you a fresh one.

Scoring

Your score is the points you have when the game ends. Higher is better.
